Lester strikes out 11 in a win against angels

Red Sox RHP Jon Lester continued his dominance over the LA Angels last night as he struck out 11 in seven strong innings work for his third win of the season. The Red Sox look to get back to .500 after an awful start to the campaign. Lester was named the team's number one pitcher before the season and they hope he continues to pitch like one down the road during the season.

Red Sox Activate Albers

The Red Sox activated RHP Matt Albers from a 15-day DL and optioned RHP reliever Alfredo Aceves to Triple A. This move comes after Aceves struggled to get outs in most of his appearances but hopefully he will rebound after his stay in Triple A. Again, a press release was used to get this news out. Not all media outlets covered this news piece but the team website as always, puts up all the news releases for anyone to read and catch up with their favorite team. 

High School honored during pregame ceremony

Hingham High school, winner of the Jordan's Furniture "Play Ball Program" contest through the Boston Red Sox RBI program and will receive money. The Red Sox are building a strong relationship with the City which is a great PR tactic to use in order to draw fans to their games.

Fenway Park 100th Anniversary Brick Program sale begins today

Fenway Park Brick Program is a tradition set to have fans personally leave a mark on the historical ball park. There are bricks in different sizes and all proceeds go to the Boston Red Sox Fund Raising programs around the City. 2012 will mark the mark the 100th anniversary of one of the most historical and memorable ball park in MLB.   

Red Sox announce initiatives with Monster.com and Boston Globe Media Group

The Boston Red Sox announced last week they will sponsor Youth programs all around the City in order to promote health and need for kids to get out and play. In a press release, the Red Sox would join forces with Monster.com by having the team's key players going out in the community during summer and taking part in activities with the children. The team also plans to give some money to the programs.

Dice K pulled during the fifth inning

Red Sox RHP Daisuke Matsuzaka was taken out of the game on Friday after showing signs of fatigue. Daisuke has a history with issues concerning his arm but the Manager, Terry Francona, said that its nothing big and that he will miss his next start but will be available after that. After a few rough outings, Daisuke has bounced back with a pair of great performances. Replacing him in the rotation will be RHP and knuckle ball thrower Tim Wakefield. The Red Sox used video news release on their website. Facebook and Twitter were also used for faster news reporting.

The Red Sox need your help to go represent Boston at the All-Star Game at Chase Field in Arizona. Ads on team websites is used almost by every professional team and i think this will lead to Red Sox Fans voting for their favorite team to be represented at the all-star Game.


Okajima re-joins Red Sox

LHP Hideki Okajima was re-called from the Triple A last night by the Red Sox who are in much need of a left handed reliever. Okajima was not named to the regular season roster but worked on his pitches while down in the Triple A and now he will have the confidence to stay in the big leagues. The Red Sox media used a news release to break the news and posting it on the team's website.

Red Sox Honor 9/11 Victims and Military

In the wake of Osama Bin Laden, the Boston Red Sox had a moment of silence with small American flags all over the ball park. This is a PR tactic that will show fans and people around the country how the Red Sox care about their country and military force.
          Military Ranger, Lucas Carr, threw the ceremonial first pitch with a great ovation from the fans in the ball park.
